A teen girl named Ela Dalvi, seeking revenge against her former best friend Poppy who ruined her reputation, disguises herself as a mysterious heiress to infiltrate London’s high society. As Ela executes her plan, she reunites with a familiar, handsome marquess and begins to question her pursuit of vengeance. Ultimately, Ela must decide between exacting revenge or following her heart.
Queen Bee is a perfect combination of intrigue and regency world! I love Ela when she is older when she becomes a determined and clever girl who pursues her goal. Despite the fact that Ela is hurt, she is still a girl who strives for friendship, love, and who cares about other people. I really liked what a complex character Ela was.
The theme of revenge and intrigue in Queen Bee was superb, and the plot twists surprised me at every turn. I really enjoyed the world of London salons, full of glamour, gossip and social games. Ella’s story broke my heart, although I think the author chose the easier route of flashbacks instead of slowly showing us Ella’s story through her thoughts. The relationship with Church was superb, especially how the woman supported Ella in her quest for revenge, even though she didn’t support it. Keston, Ela’s marquis and childhood sweetheart, was definitely charming, but I think his lack of faith in Ela and regret for how he treated her as a child should have been better described. Their relationship deserved more time, and I think Keston should have grovelled more. And my favourite character by far was Zia, Keston’s sister, who is just as intelligent as Ela!
So if you are waiting for the second part of the Bridgerton season, I definitely recommend Queen Bee!

Ela Dalvi, szukając zemsty na swojej byłej najlepszej przyjaciółce Poppy za zrujnowanie jej reputacji, udaje tajemniczą dziedziczkę, aby przeniknąć do londyńskiej śmietanki towarzyskiej. Podczas realizacji swojego planu Ela spotyka ponownie znajomego, przystojnego markiza i zaczyna kwestionować swój plan zemsty. Ostatecznie Ela musi zdecydować między dokonaniem zemsty a podążaniem za głosem serca.
Queen Bee jest idealnym połączeniem intryg i świata regencji! Uwielbiałam Elę w starszej wersji, dziewczynę, która jest zdeterminowana i sprytna. Mimo, że Ela jest zraniona, to nadal jest dziewczyną, która dąży do przyjaźni, miłości, oraz dba o innych. Bardzo mi się podobało to, jaką skomplikowaną postacią była Ela.
Motyw zmesty i intrygi w Queen Bee był przewspaniały, a zwroty akcji zaskakiwały mnie na każdym kroku. Bardzo podobał mi się stworzony świat londynskich salonów, pełnych przepychu, plotek i gier towarzyszkich. Historia Eli załamała moje serce, chociaż uważam, że autorka wybrała łatwiejszą drogę flashbacków zamiast powoli pokazywać nam historię Eli poprzez jej myśli. Relacja z Church była przewspaniała, zwłaszcza jak kobieta wspierała Elę w jej dążeniu do zemsty, mimo że tego nie popierała. Keston, markiz i ukochany Eli z dzieciństwa, był zdecydowanie czarujący, jednak uważam, że jego brak wiary w Elę i żal za to, jak ją potraktował w dzieciństwie powinien być lepiej opisany. A moją ulubioną postacią zdecydowanie była Zia, siostra Kestona, która jest równie inteligentna jak Ela!
Jeśli więc czekacie na drugą część sezonu Bridgerton, zdecydowanie polecam ksiażkę Queen Bee!
